It does not have to be anything mind blowing for you, but you want your first set of the visitors to come back to your blog after reading your first article. Your article should be to attract people.
You want to entertain them so much that they can’t help but to tell their friends about this excellent blog they have just discovered or created (yours).
Most of the people don’t worry too much about this in the beginning. After installing the WordPress, all most bloggers want to do is to the publish anything just to let the world know that they are online and present on the internet.
I say sorry to all of that bloggers, it does not work like that they think.
The brutal and hard truth is that if you fail to attract or capture your first visitors’ interest at the deep level with your first article, you will lose them forever and you failed.
This truth is very scary and set truth bomb out of the way, let’s look at some ways how to write a great first blog post or article.
How To Write First Blog Post
As a blogger who is just starting blogging, here are some things or ways you should mention in your first blog post.
Tell People Who Are You?
You have just jumped into the online world there is no one knows anything about you. If I want supposed to trust you and bookmark your blog, then I should need to know who you are.
People want to connect or attract with you on the deep level. Tell people your existence:
- What is your experience in life?
- This is the first blog or not?
- Tell them who are you as a person, as a professional, as a blogger?
The more you tell about yourself to world, the more readers will come and get used to you, and more they will trust on you and want to hear what you want to say.
Not the only should you use your words to talk about yourself, but you should also show some pictures to readers to attract.
Don’t show that “the strange man behind the keyboard”.
Having your own pictures on your own blog will show the authenticity, and your readers will start to trust on you.
The Bottom line is that; tell your readers all they need to know about you. The more information you provide, the easier it will be for the readers to connect with you.
Why Are You Start Blogging?
This is the really important point. If people don’t know why you are doing blogging and what you are doing as blogger, they will have no reason to trust on you.
One thing you should remember when answering this question is to keep your audience in the mind.
Ask question to yourself:
- Why would someone want to come on my blog?
- What they looking for?
- What it have for my readers?
Tell your audience why you are here. They will appreciate it. And they will want to connect with you.
Tell The Audience What They Expect?
This question is similar to the second question. Once you have answered that one question, this one becomes easier to answer that question.
Tell your audience what they expect on your blog.
Let them know the exactly what they will see every time they come to your website.
It can also be the good idea to let them know that how often you will be updating the blog at what days and time.
Don’t be creating yet another generic blog where you will be writing about anything and everything you want. Make sure that your blog is well-focused on a particular or specific topic. It will boost your authority and authenticity level and allow the audience to see you as an expert or professional in your field.
Remember Your Target Audience
In your first blog post, don’t forget to talk about your whom you are writing for (target audience).
- What your audience like (ambitious, lazy, busy, very busy, etc.)?
The point is that you empathize with readers so that they will feel welcomed, happy and trust that you understand their questions and problems.
How You Can Get Involved Your Audience?
You need to do something interesting and let your audience know how they can get involved.
- Do you encourage the comments?
- Do you give opportunity of guest posting?
- How can readers contact you if they have any questions, suggestions, or complaints?
You need to tell them they can easily reach out to you. Also, you should courage bad comments; don’t be afraid to discourage you. Sometimes readers don’t like your opinion, he discourages you, and if your readers can’t share those disagreements with you, they won’t trust you.
Therefore, do whatever you can to ensure that the feedback is appreciated and encouraged.
If you have the possibility to contact at a particular time of the day/week, let them know at what time it should be contact you.
Tell Clearly Your Blogging Goals
This is no hard and fast rule. You must share the goals of your blog with your readers in your very first blog post.
- What you want to achieve with the blog?
- What will you want from the blog to be look like in 3-6 months?
Sharing your goals with the readers will make them to understand that you have transparency value.
When you share your goals with your audience or readers, they will want to help you to achieve your goals.
Write Introduction About Your Blog Post
Starting a blog or website is not always the main thing; you also need to make sure you start in a right way. If your first blog post contains all the elements I mention above, then you are on a right way and start in a good way.
Make sure your audience or readers know that you are an open, honest, and passionate blogger.
